Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
