Truly the most shocking announcement, the much-discussed disaster that was the third season of One-Punch Man wasn't enough to deter further production. Season 3 will be back with a subsequent part in 2027—such a distant date they could have called it season 4. Adding to the surprise, the studio J.C. Staff will continue to be leading the project. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is set to direct from the start, which might be a positive development. Kyoto Animation has established a name for being an prestigious animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the high caliber of its output but for the fair treatment of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became widespread acclaim when it launched in 2022 after just a handful of installments, but then went into a lengthy break due to the creator's health issues. When it returned with a more relaxed pace, the series showed it hadn't lost the fans' affection and enthusiasm, and now everyone is thrilled about the impending KyoAni adaptation.
